Press shoot/reload button when the indicator is on the blue sector - your weapon will be cooled immediately and ready to work. There are two critical parts, yellow/ blue sectors that are on the red bar. However, if your weapon is overheated, you can see a cooling bar for your weapon displayed on the screen. If you want to keep firing but your weapon didn't overheat, you must reload it. Each one of them has a certain number of shots.
Each weapon has a unique bar - the width and placement of the colored fields are different.
